SCAD Savannah Film Festival in late October through early November honors actors, directors and films. Each year more than 50,000 people attend, including celebrities, making it one of Savannah’s best fests of the fall season. It includes competition film screenings, special screenings, workshops, panels and lectures.
MovieMaker magazine named SCAD on its 2021 list of the Best Film Schools in the U.S. and Canada for its outstanding production training. It’s no surprise for a school that prioritizes preparing students for careers in an extensive amount of creative professions and wows every year with an esteemed film festival.
The Savannah College of Art and Design presents the annual festival, celebrating cinematic creativity from both award-winning professionals and emerging student filmmakers. The festival is host to a wide variety of competition film screenings, special screenings, workshops, panels, and lectures.
The festival continues to bring attention to the state of Georgia as a top filming destination. The economic impact of the festival on the city of Savannah and the state of Georgia is also an important component. Annually, the festival attracts more than 60,000 visitors to the Savannah area.
